Professional Liability

Our professional liability practice is devoted to the defense of attorneys, health care providers, accountants, insurance agents and brokers, and other professionals on malpractice matters. We also represent insurers on coverage matters involving professional liability coverage and have drafted professional liability insurance policies and endorsements. We successfully represented a former partner of a law firm in a five-week trial who paid no portion of the $56 million jury award. We also obtained a defense verdict after a six-week jury trial for our lawyer/accountant client who was alleged to have caused his former client to go out of business due to alleged improper legal and accounting advice. We obtained a favorable settlement of a class action securities lawsuit for our law firm client, paying essentially cost of defense on a settlement of more than $10 million.
